Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Since I've updated my kde to 4.2.2 (from 4.2.1) i have this new bug:
When I click on the K-menu, kickoff is not focused. This brings mainly 2 issues:
1) I can't close it except by clicking again on the k-menu icon
2) One very nice kickoff feature is that when you open it you are ready to search for your programs in the search bar. You simply have to use the keyboard and don't have to use the mouse. This is not true anymore, since the searchbar is not focuses anymore

Confirmed, I've grown too accustomed to click and type menu navigation, it's driving me crazy already.

Confirming it as well, quite annoying since I had just gotten used to using a shortcut to open the kicker menu and then starting programs by typing their names. I know I can also use krunner for this, but still...
The main issue I have with it is that when I click outside the kicker menu (ie on the desktop) kicker does not disappear.

All Plasmaoids have the same behavior. It's better so with this behavior, only kicker should work different - also like it worked in the past.

It appears to be all dialog layers that popup from the status bar/launcher.. except for the old kde3 lookin' applets like klipper, kmix, and whatever else seems to load into the bottom right container of the status bar.

Yep, I've been going crazing trying to figure out what I did to change the behavior. At least I now know that it wasn't me. I'd really like the old behavior back.

Hello pardon my ignorance but does this also fix the issue of the "Recently plugged in" applet also not closing when lost focus? This is not specific to Kicker, as I reported at bug 358108.
