Bug Description

Binary package hint: postgresql-8.3

There are new upstream microreleases with important bug fixes:

  http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/static/release-8-3-7.html
  http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/static/release-8-1-17.html

According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/MicroReleaseExceptions I will upload these updates to stables.

Since gutsy goes EOL in about a month, I'll forego gutsy/8.2 now.

Since these packages fix security issues, they will need to get a version bump and be rebuilt for -security instead of being released to -updates.

We can either wait until they are ready to be released, and we'll send them out as security updates, or we can build them in ubuntu-security-proposed and pocket-copy them back into -proposed.

I have tested the -proposed packages with the postgresql-common testsuite, works fine. I did not hear any regression reports either, nor were they reported upstream. I consider these good to go.

Security team, do you want to change anything in the packages, or will you do a no-change upload, or shall I? Please advise how to go ahead with this.
