Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Installing daily-live (13/03/09) on an ASUS 901. Install runs to 94% then bombs out when trying to remove extras.

Looks like it could be similar to #316446, but this looks like it was fixed.
Can provide more info if required.

This crash has the same stack trace characteristics as bug #316446. However, the latter was already fixed in an earlier package version than the one in this report. This might be a regression or because the problem is in a dependent package.

Not sure if it is relevant, but I used unetbootin to produce a USB installer of the Live ISO that I was installing from.

After branching the latest code I can see that a fix has all ready been commited for ubquity 1.11.18 which didn't make the live CD. Not really sure about procedure here so have just set status to fix commited?

Should I be doing anything else?

Thanks. I've marked this fix in the changelog so this bug will be marked Fix Released when this code is uploaded to the Ubuntu archive.

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 1.11.18

---------------
ubiquity (1.11.18) jaunty; urgency=low

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * broken_packages is fairly slow due to having to iterate over the whole
cache. Speed it up a bit by stopping when the number of broken packages
found reaches cache._depcache.BrokenCount; this improves blacklist
calculation time for the previously-mentioned DVD English-only install
    from 3:30 to 2:30 (see LP #335596).
  * GTK frontend:
    - Restore set_window_hints method for use by windows other than the main
one (it was still called in the Glade file), just in case we're using
a window manager that pays attention to this. In these cases
maximisation doesn't really make sense so we no longer permit that.

  [ Evan Dandrea ]
  * Fix a bit of code that wasn't updated to reflect other changes in
    remove_extras (LP: #342319).
  * Start NetworkManager before ubiquity in only-ubiquity mode
    (LP: #340929).
  * Support the new partman/unmount_active question.
  * Automatic update of included source packages: grub-installer
    1.36ubuntu3, partman-base 129ubuntu2, partman-target 58ubuntu5.

I installed daily-live (18/03/09) and got this error as it is using 1.11.17 package. 1.11.18 is however available on the updates list. Installed the updated version and the installation completes without error.
