Bug Description
it would be awesome if you could select a node of an object and then hide all nodes while still being able to move the selected node(s). (The nodes make it rather difficult to see how everything looks at the end.)

Bug #371092 (marked duplicate of this one) suggests to hide all nodes:
"First, an option to hide the nodes with a keystroke until unhidden with the same keystroke.
Second, the option to hide them while holding a key, and they become unhidden when the key is released. In either case, the node tool would be usable while the nodes are hidden, so the path could be adjusted without the nodes obstructing the ability to clearly see the path."
The second option may cause difficulties to use other node related shortcuts, so the first one looks better.
And it's probably a good thing to show the selected nodes.
