Dual view needs an option for the first page to be left or right

Binary package hint: evince

When I open some pdfs in evince 2.22.2 in Hardy they do not display until I hit next at which point the second page appears.

*Correction* when I open the pdf which is multi page it opens with the 1st page out of the window to the right.

This is much less of a problem, but is still annoying.

I've updated the report, as I've discovered its not actually that big a
problem after all, the window just appears to be blank as the first page is
out of the window to the right.

It loads fine here with jaunty, with which page are you having issues? may you tell us some easy steps in order to reproduce the issue with that document? thanks haymansfield ;-).

pedro, it seems to me that what haymansfield is reporting is simply the strange behaviour of dual mode:
for pdfs with >2 pages, dual mode puts the first page of the pdf to the right, leaving the space to the left empty. (this does not happen with 1-page or 2-page pdfs). the result is, at a sufficiently high zoom level (for my 1024x768, this is 125%, for higher resolutions this would be 150% or more) you open the pdf and see an empty space...

Hi Dimitrios,

Yes this does describe the odd behaviour I was seeing, it was usually
happening if I opened a pdf in a small window. One thing to note is that if
I move on to the next page and then back again it seems to sort itself out
and I correctly see the first page.

To clarify, the desired/expected behaviour would be for evince to place page 1 at the top left of the space, not top right...
