Bug Description

Right now, I don't think removable drives work amazingly:

5) Maybe do a Time Machine-like warning the first time you plug in a drive.

=== Parts of this bug that are now fixed: ===

1) The drop down box for 'Local Folders' doesn't let you select an unmounted drive.

2) The label 'Local Folders' might be misleading for someone expecting a label like 'External Drives' -- most people don't think of removable drives as either local or folders.

3) Deja Dup should notice when it isn't mounted and warn the user (and, if it is running as a scheduled backup, delay and wait for user to plug it in). (tracked in bug 403701)

4) Make sure we work with NTFS

I think #1 is fixed by a newer GTK+. It will mount selected unmounted drives for the user. Should confirm what version and optionally depend upon it...?

6) Delete old backups if the drive is low on space? Probably first ask the user if we would delete before their preference says.

Hey, Michael, I noticed Déjà Dup records the UUID of the drive it's backing up to in gconf, but a while ago the mount point for my backup drive changed and it stopped finding it. Is that feature still waiting to be implemented? (If so: could be an excellent item for this list!)

Dylan, that sounds like a bug you should file. It is supposed to be implemented. I'd be curious to see your deja-dup version and your gconf values:
gconftool-2 --dump /apps/deja-dup > /tmp/deja-dup.gconf

Dylan, I commented on your situation above, before I subscribed you. Can you read my comment and file a new bug?

All these issues have been fixed except #5. I've moved that one to bug 590246. So I'll close this. I think we rock pretty hard now! :) Any further issues can be opened as new bugs.
