Thank you for your bug report, the crash is similar to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=566287

Confirm.
I use Ubuntu Jaunty (alpha3) with latest updates. In general, gnome-settings-daemon crashes when I press hotkey button at laptop for switch to second monitor; after log out or xserver restart gnome-settings-daemon works well, but after first crash and for now Menu->Log Out/Shut Down dialogs looks unthemed and very ugly :-)

Most probably the bug is fixed upstream as of r672, could you perhaps integrate that patch?

But when will that be?
Status of bug shows "Fix Commited" but it still happens for me.

AFAIK, Ubuntu tasks aren't meant to be marked 'fix committed' unless the fix is in an Ubuntu repo somewhere pending upload, which was not the case here. But I've grabbed the change from upstream revision 672, and this will be uploaded soon anyway.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-settings-daemon - 2.25.3-0ubuntu2

---------------
gnome-settings-daemon (2.25.3-0ubuntu2) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Drop 19_extra_keybindings.patch, the keybinding has been wrong since
Ubuntu 8.10 and this should be superseded by the upstream xrandr
    plugin anyway. LP: #267018.
  * 99_svn_crash_on_xrandr.patch: patch from upstream svn to fix a
crasher bug in the xrandr plugin due to broken error handling.
    LP: #315974.

Did you mean to send this to another email address? Mine is or should
only be associated with this bug because the crash reporter matched the
subject with an identical crash that I had, and I subscribed to it;
someone else wrote the 'fix committed' message.

At any rate, thanks for everything you're doing; Ubuntu is a really
great system.

Best regards,

Steve Hartwell
