Please provide your cups error_log after your printer fails to print as described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#cupserrorlog

Does removing your printer queue and reinstalling it work?

Can you give the output of "ls -lh /etc/cups" here.
And please attach your current /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file here.

I have seen it an other bug, that on this precise date, a new cupsd.conf file that does not seems to work.
The old one being saved to cupsd.conf.0 I think.

PPD/Driver is not shipped anymore in Ubuntu repositories, so it has to be provided manually from: http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Samsung/Samsung-ML-1210

Hans Hellén,

The driver is still shipped in Ubuntu repos on 10.04 LTS:
$ lpinfo -m | grep -i 'ml-1210'
foomatic:Samsung-ML-1210-gdi.ppd Samsung ML-1210 Foomatic/gdi (recommended)

Does your printer print with this driver if you select it manually?
System > Administation > Printing (system-config-printer):
Right-click your printer > Properties > Make and Model > Change ...

Perhaps your printer gets assigned the wrong driver automatically, can you run the following command in a terminal window and post the output here:
sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb

So, after trying with 10.04 Live-CD the PPD/Driver is there! It is in foomatic-db package (/usr/share/foomatic/db/source/printer/Samsung-ML-1210.xml) or something like that.

The reason for this confusion was, that after trying to get a HP printer (Bug #687404) to print wireless without success, manual hplip installation removed some foomatic packages – and did not reinstall those in the end. Quite annoying indeed.
