Hello, thanks for helping to make Ubuntu better.
You seem to use a mirror, that this file should mirror. In fact though this file is from that mirror not available. Could you try changing your mirror and try again? If you don't know how to change your mirror, feel free to ask.
Thanks.

Thank you for your bug report.

Please try switching to another mirror, as the one you're using has an error. The package list for that mirror (http://mirror.cs.umn.edu/ubuntu/dists/hardy-security/restricted/binary-i386/Packages.gz) lists this version of linux-restricted-modules-common as being available in hardy-security, but the package is not actually available in http://mirror.cs.umn.edu/ubuntu/pool/restricted/l/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24/, hence the 404 error.

You can change mirror by going to System -> Administration -> Software Sources

I have no idea what that mirror is nor how to change it. Can you tell me
please?

If you're using Gnome, then you can change the mirror by going to System -> Administration -> Software Sources and selecting a different mirror in the "Download from" box
