Bug Description
Ok...so the bug is like this:
When i try to boot into my wubi install of Ubuntu 8.10, i get the following error: "crc error" and then on next line "system halted"!
i've posted the problem on ubuntu forums...but no one there had a REAL solution to the error...the best advice that they could give was simply uninstall wubi, and reinstall it! no one that i found could offer any fix to it!!! so i came here...
Hope someone who views this bug can figure it out, and come up with a fix or workaround to it soon, lol!

P.S. i've already tried a filesystem check using the command "sudo fsck /win/ubuntu/
i've also tried virus scans, spyware...the whole works!!! i've reset BIOS settings to default! in case ur wondering, i've already recovered my files from ubuntu, and backed them up in Windows!!! so there's nothing stopping me pretty much from reinstalling wubi...only i REALLY want the crc error fixed, because i have a feeling that i might run into it again with wubi...maybe even MULTIPLE times!!! and i REALLY don't want to have to reinstall frickin wubi every damn time! for this reason, i hope someone comes up with a REAL fix to it soon! lol

I've the same problem but I'm starting with a CD live;
I've tried with both ubuntu-amd64 & kubuntu-amd64 8.10 (my PC has intel core 2 duo);
then now I've finished with a memory test, and I saw many errors :-(
Do your PC have the same problem?
