Reopening, I can still reproduce it when loading attachments on demand is enabled and one chooses "View" from the mimeparttree context menu.

SVN commit 847987 by tmcguire:
Don't duplicate attachment handling code in the mime part tree.
This fixes crashes when viewing loaded-on-demand attachments via the mime tree,
since it would not set mAtmUpdate correctly, which prevents re-creating the part
tree when the part is retrived. Re-creating the part-tree would make the pointers
inside the map of the load parts command invalid and therefore trigger a crash.

kontact (4.4.10) on KDE Platform 4.6.2 (4.6.2) using Qt 4.7.2
I can reproduce the bug with the following steps on Kubuntu 11.04:
- Right click on an attachment and click "save as"
- Right click again and choose "save as"
- The attachment will be downloaded in the background
- When the download of the first click is complete, the file chooser dialog appears
- When the download of the second click is complete Kontact crashes.

Thank you for your report. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained and the code has changed sufficiently in Kmail2 so the backtraces are not really useful anymore. Should you experience the same crash in Kmail 4.8.5 or later, please open a new report for Kmail2. Thank you for your understanding

If an e-mail contains n > 2 attachments, and I select, using Ctrl+click m attachments with m in [2, n-1], then KMail will crash when the select destination dir. dialog should be shown.
(e.g. select 2 out of 4 attachments, choose "Save as", wait for the attachments to be downloaden (IMAP) and then KMail will crash)
