semi translated menues seems to just confuse the user

Bug Description

When I have installed inkscape, the menues comes in both english and swedish. Not all items are translated.
The items that actually are translated seems to have funny translations sometimes.

I think the best thing would be to have all menues in english when the application has been installed and to make it possible
for the user to select another language. In that way, its easier to speak with other persons and to get a common understanding
what you are talking about.

What I would prefer is to get a language box the first time the application is run in which I can select another language than english.
If I cancel that box, I get english. If I want the box to popup another time, I need to find it in the menues or reinstall the program.

UI language selection is already requested (multiple times).

You particular issue is that Inkscape for Windows is currently shipped without translation of GTK+ into Swedish. This will be fixed in the next release.

If you have suggestions regarding a better translation of Inkscape, please file a separate bug.

Thank you for reporting and have a nice day :)

By the way, you can disable installation of localization files, so Inkscape will always run in English for uou.

It is better if I _have_ to _enable_ them!
Actually, I am not a friend of translating menues at all.
Why? Harder to google on things when getting in trouble.

thanks for you reply

Not the same for me. I would say your problem is the unfinished translation, not the current behaviour.

Yes, Swedish translation is only 24%. But we're not against some help to improve it. :)
And as for language selection, it is now enabled (our Xmas gift!) and you can choose English as your ui language.
