Bug Description

I am unable to set the time in Dapper for Kubuntu but also had the problem with Ubuntu. I did an install for Dapper flight2 but after the restart my system froze so waited until later on that night to take out the SCSI card and let the install continue. The date was correct but the time was way off. It was about 7 hours off. I tried the setting the time but so far it just keeps giving me the timestamp is to far in the future. I can not update the system because of this bug either. I also had this same problem after updating Ubuntu by doing the sudo apt-get dist-upgrade as after I restarted the system this bug popped up.

I have a bug (I think). Here's my scenario (I'll include some sys info at the end):
Today is 2/3/2006, I changed the date to 1/1/2006.
Now, I am unable to get the 'adjust time/date' to open.
The busy mouse pointer comes up when I click to adjust the time/date, but the progam does not load.

I am including some version info that I hope wil help:
Gome 2.12.1,
Mozilla firefox 1.0.7,
Clock 2.12.1,
I did recently get an update to the core, but I dont know how to check that yet. I am going to restart compeltly and see if that fixes it.

Well, I did a full shut down and stratup and that fixed the problem. My date/time has been reset to the correct values. Probably updated witha time server i imagine. Sorry, I thought I had some helpful info for you. Good luck anyway!

I am able to change the date and time in Ubuntu using the graphical interface but in Kubuntu I have to use the sudo date -s to change the time as the graphical time will not work. For me it is 8 hours behind and is this way each time I start the system up. I am using flight 3 now and will be using flight 4 when it comes out. I have a powerpc and each time no matter what I do it is always 8 hours off.

I am using Dapper Flight 4 and still running into this bug. The time is always 8 hours behind and has to be set each time. This is not a problem with Yellow Dog Linux 4.1 on my machine and it recognizes the right time each time. It would not be so bad if I did not have to reset the time each time. If it would just stick and then next time I started up had the right time then I would be excited.
