Bug Description
When given the restart icon in the task bar and upon pressing it, the system begins to shut down.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
1. Progress bar on graphical indicator will descend to 0 setting
2. The system will reboot
3. I will see the system startup post
4. The system will fully reboot and return me to a login screen
INSTEAD:
1. The progress bar descends half-way and no further
2. The system then displays a black screen with a blinking underline cursor in the top left
3. The system never restarts
4. The hard drive is not running
A manual hard reset is necessary to achieve restart.
Description: Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)

Hi US41,
I just wanted to gather some additional information from you. Per the kernel team's bug policy, can you please attach the following information. Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment.
* cat /proc/version_ signature > version.log
* dmesg > dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
* sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.log
For more information regarding the kernel team bug policy, please refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelTeamB ugPolicies . I'm also curious if there might be a possible workaround for this if you boot with the "reboot=b" boot option. Let us know if that helps. Thanks.
