I can build flurry from src and manually add it but please explain if you just forgot to add it or some other reason.

flurry was moved from xscreensaver-gl to xscreensaver-gl-extra because it triggered too many crashes on some video cards.

And you don't have to attach the original tarball. All Ubuntu packages are built using the original tarball, with the Ubuntu patch applied.

I just checked xscreensaver-gl-extra 5.07-0ubuntu1 package, flurry is not in
it.

Yes, you're right. It was taken out of xscreensaver-gl-extra for the above reason. We'll put it back once the video drivers are less fragile. See for instance bug #224065 (and other reports).
