Bug Description

Under Xubuntu, Intrepid (8.10) alpha-4
After successful
 # apt-get install gnome-terminal
Here's what I get when trying to run it:

yotam@durini:~:235> gnome-terminal
gnome-terminal: symbol lookup error: gnome-terminal: undefined symbol: vte_terminal_set_alternate_screen_scroll

gnome-terminal works correct here, can you run ldd /usr/bin/gnome-terminal and attach the output to the report? is libvte9 installed?

Yes, all you need to do is to apply an already existing patch to libvte9 which adds the specific method. I posted the workflow here :

It is not an issue for me.
But on the other hand, I did not check closely if there is still a
dependency problem there.
