Bug Description

ogre-contrib ftbfs.
First it tries to to download the cg-toolkit from nvidia site:

Setting up nvidia-cg-toolkit (2.0.0015.deb1) ...
Downloading http://developer.download.nvidia.com/cg/Cg_2.0/2.0.0015/Cg-2.0_May2008_x86_64.tgz on the amd64 architecture.
500 Can't connect to developer.download.nvidia.com:80 (connect: timeout)
Failed to download NVIDIA Cg Toolkit.

fails in the buildd, and then later on fail the configuration:

checking for cgCreateProgram in -lCg... no
configure: error:

Launchpad bug auto-closing is currently broken. This bug was fixed in the following upload:

nvidia-cg-toolkit (3.0.0007-0ubuntu1) maverick; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
    Closes: #506494, #539418. LP: #365229.
  * Use upstream's tarballs as source instead of downloading during postinst,
    as redistribution is now permitted. The package is now non-free.
    Closes: #502457. LP: #284750, #524740, #254084.
  * Switch to source format 3.0 (quilt) to use multiple upstream tarballs.
    Add get-orig-source to fetch tarballs.
  * Use minimal dh rules.
  * Bump standards version to 3.9.1 (no changes needed).
  * Added (simple) watch file.

I'm getting the same problem (see https://launchpadlibrarian.net/79477655/buildlog_ubuntu-lucid-amd64.conquests_0.15_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz ). It seems to still want to download Cg 2.1 - how do we obtain Cg 3.0 (on that note, I note apt-get for nvidia-cg-toolkit also only downloads v2.1 on Ubuntu, not the latest version)?

I tried putting >= 3 as a dependency, but it still tries to download only Cg 2.1.

Or is is a problem that I'm using lucid, and my release is marked lucid, but Cg 3.0 is marked as maverick (I don't quite understand yet what the significance of the release in the changelog is)?

Thanks in advance.

Stefano Rivera (stefanor) wrote :

It was fixed in maverick and later. If you want 3 in your PPA, take my maverick packaging, update it to 3.0, and backport it to lucid, for your PPA.

It's not too late to get 3 into oneiric, if it's needed for anything, but we'd need to move fast.

Thanks. Well, I'll just stick with releasing in maverick onwards. It all seems to work now :)

Anyway to get this (and Plugin_CgProgramManager) into Oneiric and Precise?
