Bug Description

Binary package hint: python-gmpy

There are two serious bugs on 64-bit platforms. The bugs impact all releases of gmpy prior to v1.03 on any 64-bit platform.

1) gmpy.mpz(2**32) returns 0

2) hash() returns a 32-bit value but it should return a 64-bit value.

These bugs, and a few others, are fixed in the recent gmpy v1.03 release.

I am one of the maintainers of gmpy so please let me know if there is anything I can do to get the fixes implemented.

Thanks,

casevh

A new version has been released and is about to hit testing (1.03.ds). It should fix this.

I don't quite understand what your description of the bug means. What
exactly is the problem?

If the question is "Is this bug fixed in Jaunty?", the answer is yes.
I installed Jaunty and verified those bugs are not present.

We've just released gmpy v1.04 that fixes some uncommon bugs and
includes some performance improvements.

If I can be any assistance, please let me know.
