Bug Description

- Inkscape 0.46
- Xquartz 2.2.1

To reproduce:
- Open Inkscape
- Select a drawing tool (rectangle, elipse, etc.)
- Open Inkscape Preferences (Ctrl+Shift+P)
- Click the Fill Color
- Inkscape reports Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now.

gdb has no backtrace (I did gdb /Applications/Inkscape.app/Contents/MacOS/Inkscape - /Applications/Inkscape.app/Resources/bin/inkscape-bin won't run):

Probably an incorrect subject - again, this isn't in the Fill/Stroke dialog (Ctrl+Shift+X), but in the Fill/Stroke of Inkscape Preferences (either click on the Fill/Stroke display in the chrome, or Ctrl+Shift+P) - so there is a workaround.

This crash is also reported on Windows 2000: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/231887/comments/5 (see the screenshot there). I've managed to reproduce it myself with Inkscape 0.46 on Windows XP, but it only happens sometimes. I haven't yet managed to reproduce it with current SVN.

Hi,
Same bug here on Inkscape Windows 0.46...
Every time I click on a rectangle in the tool bar and I try to edit the "fill preference" from the Inkscape preferences (Shift Control P), it crashed entirely...

Can't change the fill preference at all!

Hi.
The Inkscape splash screen says: Inscape 0.46, built Mar 30 2008.
Not sure how to tell if this is the latest or not.

If it doesn't show revision number, it is very old indeed, and the date confirms that. Unfortunately we don't have up-to-date builds for osx now, but you can find at least September builds at http://inkscape.modevia.com/macosx-snap/?C=M;O=D

Thanks. Do you happen to know what release is on the stable download page?
Since I'm using this for production work, I'd like to avoid surprises. The
note at the top of this page says...unstable.
Thanks.
