Bug Description

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

When I install a guest machine (anyone) in virtualbox-ose (actually it does not matter virtualbox or virtualbxo-ose, the situation is the same) under ubuntu 8.04 beta, I could not use my keyboard to input in guest machine. But if I uncheck the "enable complex character input" from language config window and reboot, keyboard is working in guest machine. However this method is not a ideal solution for me.

WORKAROUND:
In VirtualBox, go to File -> Preferences -> Input; then uncheck "Autocapture keyboard"

no, it not my bug. I do have this problem but I use gnome and I am not
sure how to do the same setting as you did in KDE.

Thanks,

I had the same problem and fixed by doing this:

In VirtualBox, go to File -> Preferences -> Input; then uncheck "Autocapture keyboard" (http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=572)

Hello,

You solution does work after the addtional tools installed and loaded.
However if you try use keyboard during the system bootup period or to
install a new guest system, keyboard still doesnot work.

Thanks,
