Cannot add Desktop Drapes applet to the panel

Binary package hint: yelp

In the screen "Add to Panel" when i select "Desktop Drapes" and then click "Add" button it gives me the following error

The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:DrapesApplet"

and ask me to delete the applet or not.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 Beta with the most recent updates in the day 6 april 2008.

I can confirm this bug on the same setup except with the 2.6.24-19-generic kernel.

I attempted a reinstall of gnome-applets and gnome-applets-data mentioned here: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-696947.html

It did not fix the problem.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
