Systray not showing on xPad 5.8 even though selected

The tray icon does not show even when it is checked in the Xpad preferences.

It should show up when checked?

Yes. Ubuntu 22.04 with Wayland enabled.

Also, any developer willing to rewrite the systray behavior for the common DE's (KDE/Gnome) is more than welcome. It certainly needs an overhaul.

i was looking to re-write if there really was a problem but i noticed that in the code, there was a DEF for the required libraries.

i installed "libayatana-appindicator3-dev" from apt and recompiled from source, with "--enable-appindicator=yes"

And it worked, and the tray icon shows up. Apologies for not checking.

Ah, I misunderstood that you were compiling your own version. :)
