This is blocking the https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ipu6-drivers/+bug/2031412 SRU, because this package is needed there for testing the MIPI camera.

@Andreas, not really. There are multiple MTL MIPI platforms ongoing. Some sticks with CVF that takes ivsc drivers, and some takes Lattice aggregator that is driven by the usbio drivers here. The test steps in bug 2031412 includes usbio because we verify everything works on every platform we have so far as possible. Let me remove that and don't block bug 2031412.

Could we get this package out from the NEW queue any time soon? We have a few oem machines that require this driver to be GM at the end of this month.

This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-oem-6.5/6.5.0-1011.12 kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-jammy-linux-oem-6.5' to 'verification-done-jammy-linux-oem-6.5'. If the problem still exists, change the tag 'verification-needed-jammy-linux-oem-6.5' to 'verification-failed-jammy-linux-oem-6.5'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

The usbio-drivers package that was uploaded to the noble NEW queue has been rejected due to an incorrect debian/copyright. The upstream copyright declarations all indicate that they are GPL 2.0, not GPL 2.0 or any later version. The debian/copyright uses the correct short name for the actual license, but includes "or any later version" text in the body of the license statement, which is incorrect.

Pushed new revision of usbio-drivers source package to https://launchpad.net/~vicamo/+archive/ubuntu/ppa-2041800. It's based on a new upstream release version and therefore source tarball & everything else needed are in the PPA.

Changes since previous attempt:
* New upstream WW50'23-USBIO-PV release
* drop patches that have been upstreamed
* correct license body as mentioned by Steve in comment #13.

Need sponsor.
