Bug Description

The installer reported that my smb.conf was different to the one in the package. I clicked on the menu option "launch a shell to investigate things" (or something like that) - everything froze for quite some while, then I found myself at a shell. I made a copy of my smb.conf, exited the shell, and then the installer announced that things had failed.

Thank you for the bug report. I tried to reproduce the issue by upgrading to 22.04 with samba using your smb.conf but was unable to. Do you know which release you upgraded from? Also did your upgrade to 22.04 succeed otherwise? Lastly do you know if the copy of smb.conf you were able to make differs from the SMBConf.txt file listed above?

Hi

I was upgrading from 20.04 I think. The upgrade succeeded mostly as far as
I know, though something isn't quite right - I am getting occasional
unresponsiveness in the UI for 10-20 seconds. That seems to be fairly
random, definitely not to do with samba. You saw my comment that in fact
samba is working anyway? The copies of smb.conf were the same I think (once
I realised that it was working I removed my copy so I've deleted the
evidence). Also, this box has been upgraded multiple times before.

It's fair to say that I don't see this as a big issue, I just pushed the
report button because it was there.

Thanks for the info, I'm glad samba is still working. I'll leave this bug report as is for now in case others also run into this issue.
