Bug Description

Binary package hint: accerciser

The Applications/Programming menu item (to start accercise) has a typo. It says "Accerciser Accesibility Explorer" but should be "Accerciser Accessibility Explorer". That's one s too few in "Accessibility". I'm using Hardy Heron.

The change actually has to be made in the po/en_*.po files as the .desktop file is generated automatically.

accerciser (1.1.92-0ubuntu2) hardy; urgency=low

  * accerciser.desktop:
    - Fix spelling mistakes (LP: #199100)
    - Remove "Application" from Categories field
    - Remove Encoding field
  * Bump Debian standards version to 3.7.3
  * debian/control: Add Homepage field

David, thank you for your patch.
Unfortunately it needs a bit more work:
 - the Encoding field does not get removed, as stated in the changelog
 - at least on KDE4, with no regional settings, the original "Name" field gets used, so it should get fixed there, too.
   "grep Accesibility . -R -l | xargs sed -i s/Accesibility/Accessibility/g" in the source package worked for me.
 - using "editdiff" you can then drop any changes from the patch, which are not required, e.g. those to debian/control or accerciser.desktop/accerciser.desktop.in, because they get generated from *.in

Once you've attached a new debdiff, I will sponsor it.

Removed the encoding field, edited the desktop.in.in _NAME field and removed excess rubbish from the debdiff.

David, I've not tried it, but it looks like it won't work: you need to fix the msgid with the typo also for all the existing .po files.

Basically, "grep Accesibility . -R -l" in the source package should only return files which get generated from some .in file.

David, you can use my patch from bugzilla.

Ok, thanks for both of your help so far. Here is a debdiff with Pedro's patch from Bugzilla and my edits to debian/control. Should (hopefully) be fine.

Perhaps it's just me but the patch doesn't apply here.

Yes, the patch is malformed, but "recountdiff" fixes it.

Unfortunately, there are still a lot of unfixed places in there, according to "grep Accesibility . -R -l", especially the msgid in ./accerciser.desktop.in.in needs to get fixed, too.

Please keep in mind though, that I'm not very experienced with intltool usage in Gnome packages myself and may be totally wrong somewhere..

Please note that a new upstream version of this package has not long been uploaded as I was not entirely aware of this bug. I'm happy to sponsor a fix, if someone is working on it.
