Bug Description

I use computer in 200% screen scale. In this scale onscreen keyboard is to big so it is useless because there are invisible space, Alt and Ctrl keys. When the screen is in 100% scale keyboard is in proper size.
Moreover there is no possibility to use diacritical marks using onscreen keyboard. Diacritical marks are displayed well but when pressed there is no effect.
I tried to check it with different kernels but either on 5.4.0-42 or on 5.11.0-37 the issue occurs.
Device: ThinkPad X1 carbon 3 gen.
System: Ubuntu 20.04.3 gnome-shell x11 window.

I can't seem to reproduce the problem at 200% scale here.

Please:

1. Attach a screenshot or photo of the problem.

2. Run this command to automatically gather system info:

Thanks. That's not the GNOME onscreen keyboard so can you tell us which package you installed to get that keyboard?

Hi,
Thank you for response.
I had created a bootable pendrive with 20.04 version of Ubuntu. I
installed this and then updated system, using regular system update
tool.
So I am now on 20.04.3 version. I did not install any additional
keyboards or packages so I have no idea what kind of keyboard it could
be. I even don't know how to change it to GNOME keyboard.
If I enable onscreen keyboard in system settings, it shows the same
keyboard you saw on screenshots.

It appears the '<email address hidden>' extension is what you are seeing. Please use the 'Extensions' app to disable it and then you will get the regular GNOME onscreen keyboard that does not have such scaling bugs.

Hi, Daniel,
There must be something more than "Extensions" app or improvedosk issue. I removed both and the propblem with scalling is still present. Enclosed screenshot.

That still looks different to the Ubuntu 20.04 OSK due to your theme. Try changing back to the Ubuntu "Yaru" theme.

Hi Daniel,
When I changed gnome shell to Yaru the keyboard is ok (enclosed).
So the problem was caused by specific gnome shell "Chrome-OS". It moves onscreen keyboard some pixels down. It is easy to workaround this using "Improvedosk" extension setting landscape height some px up.
We can take the issue to be closed.
