LP translations should be set up

At <https://askubuntu.com/q/1328747> the OP asked why the items when right clicking the desktop weren't translated into their language (Occitan). After some research I concluded that the strings are probably provided by gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng.

There is not yet any ding translation template at LP, but I suppose such a template should be created. Assuming the package has been promoted to main recently, maybe a no-change rebuild is what's needed to get the template into the import queue.

I suspect that's for the old desktop-icon project. I don't see the new "ding" project yet at l10n.gnome.org. Sorry if I mislead you at Ask Ubuntu.

I'd like to talk with some desktop developer about how to handle the translations of the new project. Not only Occitan is affected, and the strings in question are rather visible.

But probably you won't need to. There is an upstream merge request which I plan to take into account.

That succeeded, i.e. the ding translation domain is now established in LP (hirsute). Now let's add the latest upstream translations to avoid duplication work.

I saw that you tried to upload a PO file, but that it was rejected. I think most of those translations made it via the package instead.
