"𝐂-𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬, the sequel to Cyberdogs, is a DOS arcade shoot-em-up computer game which allows players to work co-operatively during missions, and against each other in "dogfight" death-match mode" as it is described in Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-Dogs . The game is quite good and can bring nostalgic feelings for those retro gamers out there. The game also has local multiplayer (Couch Coop & Vs Mode , not LAN or Online multiplayer) and that's what I found interesting about this game even though I'm not a retro fan.
The most updated and well maintained C-Dogs port for Linux is currently 𝐂-𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬 SDL : Homepage- http://cxong.github.io/cdogs-sdl/ and Source Repo - https://github.com/cxong/cdogs-sdl . Apart from the desktop big 3, this game is available on Android Play Store too! Though I couldn't find any 𝐜𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 package for Ubuntu or even Debian, there's one in AUR - https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cdogs/ and another one in Fedora - https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/cdogs-sdl . The Fedora package is quite dated (version 4.x, while the current version is 5.7) and it seems to be built from the original port which is inactive now. The Arch AUR package is regulary updated though and stays up-to-date.
Starting from scratch.
