Bug Description

Binary package hint: system-config-printer

Right now s-c-p starts without a particular selection in the tree view. I think it would be nice to give some guidance to novice users with a reasonable default selection:

 * If a default printer exists, select this one.
 * If there are printers, but no default one, select the first one.
 * If there are no printers, select the server options.
 * If there is not even a locally installed server, the "Connect to server..." dialog should pop up right away.

Thank you!

system-config-printer (0.7.73+svn1429-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
     o Subversion snapshot r1429
     o Fixed display of warning message that a shared printer is not really
       published due to the CUPS server settings. The message was not removed
       when turning on printer sharing in the CUPS server setting. Fixes
       LP: 132735
     o Set decent default selection in the main window when
       system-config-printer is started without options. Fixes LP: #132652
     o Removed superfluous scrolledwindow+viewport set around the printer list.
       Fixes: LP: #134427
  * debian/control: Added "Depends: python-notify". Fixes LP: #129222
