Bug Description

Evergreen version 2.4.6 and 2.5.2

Currently, Evergreen does not support the manual entry of different prices on items attached to the same lineitem (title).

With some providers (I am specifically referring to Amazon with this example), copies of the same title may be purchased at different amounts. However, there currently is not a way to manually distinguish per copy prices on a purchase order. Having the ability to set a per copy price could be particularly helpful to those who need to decide how they want to split the purchase across funds.
Thank you!

Copying Kathy Lussier's comment from the duplicate bug just to keep it more visible:

"We discussed this issue at an acq meeting this morning. We don't come across a need for separate copy prices in 99% of cases, but the Amazon scenario does come up from time to time. Our acq staff have handled it by adding distinct lineitems for each copy.

If development were done to add copy-specific prices, we would want to make sure prices can still be entered on the main PO screen when all copies for the lineitem are the same price."

This bug has some heat, but it also hasn't been updated really since 2016 and/or 2014. Would this still be desired by anyone? I personally would prefer to follow the workflow outlined in Kathy's comment, since then the line items would track with the invoice.

This bug/wish may have originated with me. It sounds like something I've
wished for from day one.

The way that we do orders starts with applying one or more 962 tag(s) to
the permanent bibliographic record. This tag supplies item data and order
data to Evergreen. A file of these bibs is compiled. We next use the Load
MARC Order Record method to batch import the file. The item/copy records
are created on import as well as the Purchase Order. It is very slick,
except when we want to buy extra copies or multiple volumes that have
different prices.

Really, the PO lines need to be generated from the item/copy records and
not the bib record for this fix to be made. It would also be cool if the
ISBN field were present on the item/copy record. Then you could even
include the hardback or paperback information on the appropriate copy/item
record so that if a fine were incurred you could charge more appropriately.

I do hope this enhancement is made someday.
