Bug Description

Hi,

Some days ago, I realized that every GTK application I have on 13.10 Saucy had grayed menu items. Keyboard shortcuts still works, but menu items are unclickable. This bug was reported in Unity as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1277888, but tracedown got libgtk-3-0 (version 3.10.6-0ubuntu1~saucy1 onward) as the primary source for this bug. I got the latest version here (3.10.7-0ubuntu1~saucy1) and the bug still remains.

Hmm, Why do you need the gnome3-team ppa when you are running Unity? Anyway there where some changes to menus in 14.04 and I suppose we picked up an extra patch there.

And in the future please don't create a new bug, but rather click "Also Affects Project" -> ubuntu gnome. that will add it to the original bug report!

i am running Ubuntu 13 and have the problem after iprobably installing the critical libs for e.g. switching to other desktop environments at login - the problem is not getting fixedby e.g. using the auto-updater. thus i am still affected right now.

the quote above is non-true: the bug still affects ubuntu. and there is no solution without digging the web and doing trial and letting the system admin do somethng non-obvious to the un-educated people by hand.
