i am running Ubuntu 13 and have the problem after iprobably installing the critical libs for e.g. switching to other desktop environments at login - the problem is not getting fixedby e.g. using the auto-updater. thus i am still affected right now.
the quote above is non-true: the bug still affects ubuntu. and there is no solution without digging the web and doing trial and letting the system admin do somethng non-obvious to the un-educated people by hand.
