If I understand correctly,
AutomaticDestinations\*.automaticDestinations-ms are what I might term
Windows-session jumps (for lack of a better name) and
CustomDestinations\*customDestinations-ms are deliberately pinned jumps.
Windows Help calls the custom ones "favorites."
If that is correct, I advocate CustomDestinations\*customDestinations-ms
have its own check box that when checked, pops a warning that "all
pinned jump-list items on both the Start menu and the taskbar" will be
deleted.
