From the Synaptic history you can check the packages that you upgraded and downgrade them all at once from command line. You have to force the version like this: sudo apt-get install somepackage=someversion anotherpackage=someotherversion etc.

The ppa has the official fix and worked well for several people testing it. Did you log out or reboot your computer? It is necessary for the bamfdaemon to be restarted.

The bamf package is waiting for approval and will be included in the proposed repository soon. After a week or so it can make its way to the updates repository from where everyone will get it as an update.
