Bug Description

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

On a Dell Inspiron 530, running up-to-date 8.10.

Suspend-resume works fine with all of my apps but one: suspending with a virtualbox vm running causes it (the vm) to be frozen when I resume. Everything else I have open resumes fine, but I have to pkill each seperate virtualbox process. Additionally, if I then try to start the vm again, it freezes again. I have to do a full reboot before using virtualbox again. If I shut down all of my vms, then suspend-resume, I can then start another vm without problems.

Fixed upstream in 2.1.0, but there are too many other changes for backporting to be worthwhile/feasible.

Yes, Ubuntu QA Website (ubuntuqa) reported that the bug was reported. However its not *exactly* the same bug. The environment is similar and the description matches, except that the VM freeze happens during suspend (black screen w/ cursor in the upper left corner) and *not* during resume. Killing of VirtualBox processes was not necessary.
