Ubuntu 20.04 daily development branch @ 16/3/2020

After a clean install daily at 14/3/2020 the ubuntu dock does not allow
drag and move icons anymore with the dock placed at bottom
you can still mouseclick and hold the icon, but it does not make space
between other icons to release

starting an application still showing the icon, and add to favorites
still works

the dock placed left or right it works better

Thank you for your bug report. Do you still get the issue? It works fine on a current focal installation here. If you still have the issue could you add your 'journalctl -b 0' log after triggering the bug?

Ok i did some more tests:

*logging into xorg or wayland the issue persist the same
*placing the dock on the left and right side, works a bit better then down
it moves the icons sometimes, but laggy
*dragging icons from dash now also works, but its unstable and does not add
at the spot you release it in the dock
*changing the dock size does not influence this bug
*tryed to uninstall the dock and reinstall but does not fix

attached the journal logs that came realtime while testing the dock bug

is there something i can try to reset the settings of the dock?

Tested to create a new user

there the icons seem to be able to drag fine with the dock only to the left side

at the right side they drag only at the upper half part of the dock

down they do not drag at all

I can reproduce this behaviour, I am unable to drag the icons consistently when the dock is placed on the bottom of the screen. I've recorded a quick video which is available here:

requested to test for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1867613 by lotuspsychje; i could move icons on dock easily (working as intended 80-90% of the time when on left, or right)

when dock is at the bottom I could only rarely moved icon on dock rarely, nor add items from to dock with my attempts failing 80-90% of the time now

I get the same thing-clicking and moving the icons all the way to the bottom won't work, however you can go as far down as the one above the bottom. Then if you move the bottom up, which you can, then that once will be moved to the bottom. So it's limited.
