Remember, though, that we were asking people to find the system
settings. That's artificial. If the defaults are sane, users will not
need the system settings when they start with the device. Items they
will need immediately are given high visibility, such as the network
indicator.
Their position in a menu users will touch every day means that they will
be discovered as users enjoy the device.
We could of course give people a device for 1, 2 or 5 days, and see what
they have learned about it and what their frustrations were, as a more
natural test.
