Alright, so I'm afraid I'll have to say, this is very probably not a bug in zope.component, but rather a problem with either your specific Plone instance, or some misconfiguration issue between some packages you are using. You might want to contact the plone-users mailing list or something like that, they might be able to help you figure this out (I know virtually nothing about Plone).
