I would like to add that the Folder Patch requires that the uncompressed folder "folder_patch" be placed at the plugins directory. I had the files directly in the plugins directory and it didn't work.

So you need:
.../plugins/folder_patch/*plugin files

and not:
.../plugins/*plugin files

Let's see what errors we can collect.
