I had Chris disable disconnected outputs via his /etc/X11/xorg.conf, which brought probing time from ~0.5s to ~0.13s, however it did not affect the Xorg startup time (still ~5sec). Then, having him connect an external monitor and disable eDP1 brought the startup time down to ~3.6 sec.
