I tried updating libdrm from Geirs PPA without any luck, I still get freezes.
I also have Debian testing installed (using XFCE) on a separate partition. Here I also need to use the vesa driver to prevent freezing. I tried to update this to the latest libdrm and libdrm-intel1 (version 2.4.17.1), but that also freezes for me when I try to use the Intel driver instead of vesa.
I will try to replace my Debian with Ubuntu Lucid to see if that is any better.
