I would like to know if xserver-xorg is partially guilty on this history ! It is suffering a lot.
There are issues with gdm, npviewer, cups, hfs and mainly Compiz.real.

Could you please check this against Hardy Alpha-4 to see if it is still occuring? We're using EXA and a newer intel driver on Hardy, which may resolve it.

If it does not, can you also try activating the "greedy" migration option (this solved several issues on 965GM hardware and might be needed for 945 too). For example:

Section "Device"
  ....
        Driver "intel"
        Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
        Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
  ....
EndSection

Let us know either way, thanks in advance!

Also another information that You don't like at much :)

Hi mavobo, have you had a chance to test it?

Hi Bryce, testing now with 2.2.1-1ubuntu3 working out of the box. No problems with Compiz or Firefox3. Video response is very fast and no corruption at all (i945GM).
Glxgears improved more and more :)
