I use an AMD athlon x64 x2 dual core using 4mb of RAM, and tried serveral times to instal ubuntu 10.10 x64 by using wubi into windows 7 ultimate. Installation seems to be OK during the wubi installation, and after the first reboot, but once the setup is finished and has to reboot into ubuntu, it drops to shell saying this:

gave up waiting for root device. common problems
-boot args (cat/proc/cmdline)
-check rootdelay=(did the system wait long enough?)
-check root=(did the sistem wait for the right device?)
-missing modules (cat /proc/modules; is/dev)
