How much is "further configuration"?
Installation of appropriate package from repository?
Download, compilation, xorg.conf and hal changing?
Write driver first, compile, write window manager, write hal clone, etc... :)

(PS, I use gentoo, so 1-click install is almost always non-existant, you just get used to it...)
