I'm unsure what can be the cause of that. I didn't make any change in the form3.ui file, so the code logic for the case where self.smallerLayout is False shouldn't have changed. I couldn't reproduce any errors here with a fresh bzr checkout.
I also couldn't explain the lack of fullscreen mode. I created the new layout file from changing the old layout, except using a slightly later qt4 version (4.3.2).
