Well, if the bug is gone, there is no reason to reproduce it then, is there? :P. My changes might have had a stronger impact on memory than I expected. I close this as fixed committed for now, as the original problems have vanished.

Btw, r6051 contains another improvement of the situation. You might want to update and try that. Tino already made a build.
