Yes, I've now seen you mentioned this back in the code review.

As for reserving the space at the bottom, I don't know. Beyond building upgrades, the other buttons should be straight forward and their icon/tooltip texts sufficient. I'm aware that for instance VirtualBox has a box like this to display information regarding various settings, but then again that's more advanced information which span 1-2 sentences. Seems to me, that we would set up lots of empty space we don't really use for anything useful when not displaying the build costs.
