Sorry for the spam, third response in a row.

My patch seems to break networks with authentification... Running wpa_supplicant before iwconfig channel has the same effect as discussed before. In wicd/networking.py the authentification is indeed done before the association (only for non-Ralink drivers, I don't understand why that is).
