Indeed, walch 3 running on Linux Mint 13 x86_64 Cinnamon 1.6.7 can't handle non US characters.

Spanish localization on Mint and on Wallch as well. it can't show path acurately and images are inaccessible. Installed version 3.01-0ubuntu1 maintained by Ubuntu team. Regards.
