Right. I went and checked. You were close.
`vm-forwarding-digest-type' was changed to "mime" in Jan 1997. Before
that, I think it used to be "rfc934". But I had set it to nil for
myself in those days. So I don't have a good recollection of the
event.
I think what you guys are missing is the use of this variable for
vm-forward-message. I will add it back and then you should be fine.
